Time to pick one

I have five Java IDEs installed on my work PC right now. :P JCreator, jGRASP, BlueJ, jEdit & NetBeans. Can't decide which one to stick to. I've used jGRASP for some time now, but NetBeans 4.1 is too good to resist. There are many plugins out there for it as well.

I better pick one soon & uninstall the rest. Looks like my habit of installing multiple browsers, HTML editors & FTP clients has spilled over to IDEs. O:)</p

I'm having fun controlling my home PC from work with MyWebEx PC :D It's slow at times, especially when I'm remotely accessing applications, but for a free service it's really good. Now I can manipulate my BT & eDonkey downloads while I'm in the office. ;)

Cheese omelette + spaghetti

Didn't have time to drop by the IT Show during lunch today. :( Maureen asked me out to lunch together with the E-Commerce girls (no guys in the team anyway), so I decided to go since I've never lunched with them. We ate at Polar Cafe & I had spaghetti with cheese omelette, which was so good. I wanna try make a cheese omelette on my own now.

Anyway, there's a new temporary staff member, Eve, so the lunch was mainly for us to get to know her. She replaces Felicia, who has been my morning coffee/lunch kaki. But she resigned from her position, leaving me & Desiree in the dungeon (what Maureen calls our cramped corner at the back). Now I gotta get my morning coffee by myself, unless Eve decides to join me. Then when it's my turn to leave, she'll be left in the 'dungeon' with Desiree.

Portable Firefox

I'm blogging at work using Firefox! =) Only because I downloaded Portable Firefox. It's a simple solution for those who cannot install the Firefox browser at work. You could unzip it to the hard disk or just run it from a USB drive. I'm saved now! No more IE!

I forgot to mention that if you wanna catch me blogging, you should pop over to my K-Blog since I blog there more often. It’s where I update on my fascination with Korean entertainment, ;) I’m also compiling a few lists of links where you can download Korean dramas & movies with English subtitles, just for the sake of having it all in one place. :) I’ll be prettifying on the layout this weekend. I'm at work right now. Finally got Web access from my laptop! Hopefully I can keep my word to blog more often from now on. I only wish I could install Firefox, but obviously not. This is a financial institution, and I'm merely a small fry who doesn't have the security permissions to install anything on the system. :-/ Anyway, I'll be blogging whenever I sense my mind wandering away from work. Which usually happens after lunchtime. :P

After that pretty long break from my geeky online life, I think I might come back. Then again, I'm still rather tired of it. Maybe I'll just start with blogging more often. I doubt I'm going to renew my domain, or start a site up again. I don't know if I'll regret it later, when I've much less free time during my internship at Citigroup. There are just so many offline things I wanna do before I start work next month, so they'll have to come first. Meanwhile, I'll be blogging more often, in between playing The Sims 2 & watching all those Korean dramas. =)

You know you're overloaded with work when you realise that there are tens of gigabytes of downloaded movies & dramas left unwatched in your hard drive. X__x Normally I'll be waiting for them to finish downloading, but now they seem to be downloaded faster than I can watch them. I don't even have to try resisting the temptation to watch them; the amount of work I have doesn't give me the time for that. =/

I've been having trouble transferring files with Trillian, so I've been trying out Gaim. It's fantastic! It works like Trillian, but it uses GTK+2.0 and is compatible with even more networks, like Jabber & Napster. The plugins are pretty good too. I'm looking into the smiley themes available right now. Give Gaim a try if you need a change from Trillian!

I'm impressed by the NDP Moblog portal. I wasn't aware that moblogging's so widespread in Singapore. It's a good way to build up anticipation for the National Day Parade. Anyway, my favourite is Edwin Yeo's Save Our Soccer blog. *LOL*

SingaSnaps is the website I submitted for the NYAA National Day Website Design Competition recently. Although I'm not sure if that's what the judges are looking for, I'm rather satisfied with my work, especially the photography. It was really fun doing it too, especially since Mas Y.B. helped. :D

Fazzy treated me to a movie today, and we watched Windstruck. For those not in the know, it's a Korean movie directed by Gwak Jae-Yong, who also directed My Sassy Girl. My Way is giving Yahoo! a run for its money. It's giving 125 MB of free email storage, from the current 6 MB I have now. Just when I've gotten a Gmail account! I think all those free email providers are going to have a who-provides-more-storage-space competition now.
